Dutch employees are satisfied with their supervisors

Dutch employees are generally satisfied with their workplace leaders, states a latest research.

Results from The National Leadership Survey 2015 that was released on Tuesday 20 January, showed that bosses scored an average of a 6.8 and executives rated themselves a score of 7.6.

Trust could be the reason for the reasonable grades with both the surveyed workers and male and female executives interviewed, notes the study.

The research highlighted that four in 10 employees still prefer an older boss compared to a younger boss. Also, nearly 20% of respondents stated their preference fora male supervisor.

Furthermore, there should be less hierarchy in companies and more decisions need to be relinquished, the study notes. However, more will be expected of employees, such as being available on evenings and in the weekends for work.

A total of 432 people participated in the study, including both executives and employees.
