Senior Audit Manager - New Zealand

Key duties and responsibilities

In order to apply for this position you need to be able to legally work in New Zealand. New Zealanders returning to their home land or other nationalities who are able to live and work or would consider relocating permanently to New Zealand will be considered.
Due to extensive growth this tier 1 firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager with a high degree of commercial acumen. You will be able to gain a keen understanding of your clients requirements that along with your specialist skills will allow you to give relevant advice and make recommendations that will truly make a positive impact on their business.

  • The Audit Managers responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • In-depth understanding of technical standards and their commercial implications.
  • Providing clear leadership on technical issues, acting as a sounding board for managers and staff.
  • Reviewing and drafting concise and logical reports to a high technical and presentational standard, requiring little editing by partner.
  • Planning, managing and completing projects/assignments to the highest standard, requiring little direction.
  • Maintaining controls over the key performance indicators for the group; adheres to budgets set and keeps the appropriate partner informed of anticipated problems.
  • In liaison with billing partner, ensuring the value of working capital of group is minimised and defined targets are not exceeded, by reviewing activity reports and debtors' lists,
  • ensuring billing is conducted regularly and followed up.
  • Maintains effective, positive client relations at highest level.
  • Takes lead in client meetings in providing advice to clients and assisting with the decision-making process where non-routine or contentious issues arise.
  • Identifying and developing opportunities for providing further assistance to clients, including cross-selling, and gains their agreement.
  • General team management, including recruitment, budgeting, and assistance with staff training.

Knowledge & experience

  • MUST speak fluent English
  • Prepared to relocate permanently to New Zealand
  • Must be CA Qualified or equivalent with at least 10 years work experience since gaining degree
  • Should have previous Staff Management Experience
  • Exceptional Communication Skills
  • Strong commercial focus with a proactive approach and good networking skills
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Should be a strong multi-tasker
