Description of position:

Our client is seeking to temporarily increase the capacity in the Group Crisis Management department, based in The Hague (The Netherlands). The role of Group Crisis Management (GCM) is to provide functional leadership for the company on crisis management. The department owns and maintains the group-wide policy framework on crisis management (on behalf of a member of the Executive Committee) and develops and delivers best practice training, templates, tools and guidance to Group, businesses, functions, regions and key countries. This is mainly delivered through a network of crisis management focal points as well as to Country Chairs and senior executives in Group. At the moment, GCM consists of 2 full-time senior staff members and an administrative assistant.

We are looking for a professional with in-depth understanding of and experience in reputation and crisis management (not meant to be: crisis communications). In addition, the candidate should have proven experience in developing and delivering complex crisis management simulations.

The candidate is capable of managing a significant project in an international organisation mainly working virtually. (S)he is a self starter who is fully familiar with issues and stakeholder management (including media) as well as business continuity management and e.g. relatives response. Experience in the oil & gas industry is highly preferred.

The candidate is required to be fluent in English, both verbal and written; Dutch language capability is not needed. For this job, (s)he will be physically located in The Hague office in order to quickly familiarise with the organisation, the team and other, smaller crisis management projects to be worked on.
