Within Cargill, the position Product Line Manager is a broad and intellectual challenging role, in which one can actually work as a "mini general manager" and "linking pin" between the external part of the organization (Sales, Marketing, Technical Services) and the internal part of the organization (Operations, Finance, Supply Chain).

The Product Line Manager:
• Is responsible for optimizing short-term as well as long-term usage and value chain of the plant capacities and related products. Is P&L accountable for operational result, related to a (sub)product category, managing the product strategies, per region/segment/customer;
• Supports the Go-To-Market process via day-to-day margin management for the product line in question. Supports, trains and influences the (commercial) teams on relevant product strategies and related customer-specific Go-To-market sharing;
• Leads the process that ensures deep understanding of total business economics/value chain of related products, by general market/industry dynamics and competition profiling, in order to facilitate BU-wide fact based decision making. Participates and contributes in annual business planning cycle (i.e. Product Line Management meetings, development of Annual Operating Plan, Business Review meetings, Sales meetings, competitor review meetings;
• Plays a crucial role as a project lead and/or team member in the execution of the BU project portfolio, with main focus on New Products Solutions and Services (NPSS), High Performance Innovation (HPI) and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).

The Product Line Manager is part of an international team (11 FTE's) and reports to Head of Product Line Management. The location of this position is Schiedam, but another location in the Randstad or possibly abroad is negotiable. Frequent travelling required (30-35%) to mainly EU destinations, depending on whether this position will be filled from CROE Headquarters (Schiedam).

• This position appears suitable for a young management potential: on the one hand because of the width of this position, on the other hand because it is a role in which one can learn and experience the broader (commercial) organization. The candidate must have strong analytical/conceptual skills, a strong personality and high ambition. Ability and potential to further grow within the organization is crucial: The Product Line Manager position should be a breeding ground for future generation leaders. In recruitment we focus on candidates with a background in international business consultancy with a good commercial sense, or on candidates with a commercial background gained in a multinational industry;
• Education: University degree, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, beta studies, etc.;
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience, in which a "legacy" (track record with excellent results) is achieved;
• Strategic skills: ability to develop business concepts, product-strategy, go-to-market strategy;
• Analytical skills: for market intelligence, business development, competitor analysis, financial analysis;
• Strong business acumen: track record of being customer- and value oriented, contribute in contract negotiations, be able to work together with and understand Sales;
• Business Consultancy: be able to support processes at business managerial level (financial, margin management, project management);
• Affinity with commodities: attracted by the dynamics of pricing, volumes, margins and macro economics;
• Powerful personality: decisive, persuasive, keen, representative, non-risk-averse, tough negotiator;
• Team player: linking-pin position to connect the dots within the operational P&L;
• Languages: Given the strong internationally oriented business of Cargill, the candidate does not necessarily be Dutch. Important is an excellent command of English.
