Purpose of the role:

• Responsibility for relationship and strategic development of a portfolio of customer relationships - delivery of financial budget, contract management, commercial development and control of compliance & risk requirements
• Development & evolution of Payment Strategy for the portfolio across whole Payment value chain – Gateway, Acquiring, Risk Management, Alternative Payments, Treasury / FX

Key role deliverables:

• Production, ongoing development and delivery of tactical and strategic plan for client relationship / portfolio
• Delivery of annual income forecast for client portfolio
• Primary contact for customers, working with Product Management, Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal and all enabling functions to deliver customer requirements and resolve issues
• Active management of contract with client, ensuring delivery of contractual commitments and commercial objectives
• Identifying and exploiting all cross sell opportunities across company product set - Gateway, Acquiring, Risk Management, Alternative Payments, Treasury / FX
• Identification and delivery of new market entry opportunities for clients to develop global coverage
• Work with Schemes Management team to ensure scheme compliance requirements are met on ongoing basis in each global market
• Work with Schemes Management team to identify opportunities to enhance client’s business and operating model through detailed understanding of Card Scheme rules & regulations - and applicability to clients' business models
• Work with Legal, Operational Risk & Regulatory Risk to ensure legal & regulatory requirements are met on an ongoing basis
• Work with Merchant Take on team to oversee Credit Stewardship for portfolio

Experience:

• Strong Relationship Management experience, with experience in international markets
• Strong commercial and P&L management acumen, with proven ability to identify and deliver commercial opportunities through B2B partnerships
• Contract & commercial negotiation skills
• Strong influencing & persuasion skills - to deliver and balance both internal and client requirements
• Solid technical expertise in Payments industry (gateway, processing, acquiring) would be highly beneficial

Other Significant Role Requirements:

• Effectively building personal relationships is critical to success, with the knowledge, presence and credibility to be seen as a trusted advisor to senior management at the customer
• Resilience and tenacity, with the ability to manage demanding customer relationships, tackle and resolve issues, and identify income opportunities
• The confidence and ability to negotiating major contracts at board level at large corporate businesses.

Technical Knowledge:

• Good understanding of the technical platforms and payment services provided by payment providers
• Knowledge of the card scheme rules and payment processes as they affect merchants
• Business English and German are required, and additional foreign language skills desirable

International financial organisation
