Trade Marketing Training Manager (38 hrs)

As a training manager you will be organizing and managing the various training & development programs within the Trade Marketing department of Vlisco. You will be based in Amstelveen, reporting to the Trade Marketing Director. You will play an important role in the Trade Marketing department, with active participation in the comprehension and implementation of the strategy by global and local teams based in all countries of activities of Vlisco. You will be office-based, but also expected to travel between company sites or to training venues such as hotels and conference centers. Travelling to and on the African continent is an important part of your job. As Trade Marketing Training Manager you will have responsibility for ensuring staff gain and develop the commercial skills they need to carry out their jobs effectively. This involves designing and coordinating training to cover both the organisation's current and future needs. With the objective of delivering capabilities for the successful activation of the TM strategy.

Your main tasks (but not limited to) will consist of:

• Consulting with other managers to identify commercial training needs and develop suitable course contents. And to take initiatives of propositions for training programs;
• Drawing up an overall training plan, as an important part of the TM strategy;
• Planning all product- and commercial training programs;
• Managing a training budget;
• Providing the training course yourself (no external providers), mainly in French, some in English;
• Evaluating the success of the programs;
• Amending and revising programs as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment;
• Helping line managers to solve specific training problems, either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.

• Degree in relevant fields linked to this position, with a minimum of 3 – 5 years corporate training experience, with possibly background or comprehension of marketing and sales stakes in a highly competitive market environment;
• Fluent in English and French, Dutch can be an advantage;
• Excellent communication skills and very high capacity in motivating working teams;
• Strong ability for working in and understand multicultural and African environment, or emerging countries;
• The ability to relate to staff at all levels;
• The ability to encourage and motivate people;
• High level of professionalism;
• Organizational skills and the ability to plan ahead and manage your time;
• The ability to write reports, keep records, and work within budgets;
• Computer skills;
• Availability on short term.
