The American donut company and coffee chain, Dunkin’ Donuts expects to open its first store in The Netherlands in 2016.

According to NU.nl, Jeremy Vitaro, Vice President of Development at parent company Dunkin’ Brands, claimed, said: “It takes a lot of time, but I count on the first store to be opened in 2016.”
In April last year, Dunkin’ Donuts announced plans to establish new stores in The Netherlands after 14 years of absence. Although no specific timeframe was mentioned, Vitaro said that the chain was aiming for branches in city centres, train stations and airports.

Schiphol Group and NS Stations, the parties leading the operation of Schiphol airport and the Dutch railway stations, respectively, told NU.nl that they have not been in talks with the donut and coffee chain yet.

Vitaro also mentioned that the organisation is in talks with several parties and that they have to reach an agreement with a local franchise partner.
