Our client is a fast-growing international business engaged in direct mail campaign management projects for large corporate and non-profit enterprises. They are currently undergoing a major expansion across the European region and require the services of a talented sales professional to spearhead their business development activities.

The primary focus of the BDM is to generate revenue through new business and by growing the footprint with existing accounts. The BDM works independently to build and develop new client relationships to promote services. This position handles the full sale cycle of selling services including the initial customer contact, service selling, proposal development and final negotiations and will assist clients with strategic database consultation and analysis.


  • Conducts sales calls and client visits
  • Conducts professional and informative sales presentations
  • Builds and maintains client relationships to meet and exceed sales goals
  • Develops and maintains a pipeline of opportunities
  • Conducts final negotiations
  • Promotes services through conventions, trade shows, etc.
  • Qualifies sales opportunities

Project Management

  • Works closely with other internal teams around account management activities
  • Develops sales forecasting
  • Gathers competitive intelligence regarding pricing and other information
  • Works with management to develop marketing materials
  • Responsible for providing strategic database consultation and analysis for clients


  • Coordinates sending of samples
  • Prepares sales presentations and written proposals in response to client visits or a client’s RFP and coordinates all information required to submit the proposal

Requirements Business Development Manager Europe


  • Bachelor Degree and 2-4 years related sales experience
  • Experience in Direct Mail and/or Non-Profit Organizations desirable
  • MUST: You live in or around the Amsterdam region
  • MUST: Fluency in English, French and Italian
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Strong self- organization
  • Customer service and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently

The position could be home or office based (or a combination of both) depending upon the location of the individual. Candidates should be fully mobile and willing to travel across the European region. In time, the position could further develop to include some Asian activities.
