AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals (SC) provides products that are integral to a number of industries and high profile customers worldwide.

Within SC, the business unit Ethylene and Sulfur Derivatives operates manufacturing sites around the world and encompasses four Strategic Market Units, including Chelates & Micronutrients (C&M). C&M provides essential chemicals to the Industrial and Institutional cleaning segments and pursues a progressive and forward looking strategy in which we constantly aim to introduce valuable new products and formulations to the market.

Within this context, your mission in this role is to fulfill the Order To Cash (OTC) cycle for all assigned orders as part of the C&M Customer Service Center, which serves customers all over the world. In doing so you ensure processing and monitoring in accordance with agreed terms in order to optimally serve customer needs and comply with law, regulations and AkzoNobel procedures.

Customer Service Representative (6 months)

The role and its responsibilities

This is a position for a fixed period of six months. The role is based at our office in Arnhem, the Netherlands, from where you manage all aspects of customer orders (including inter-company and stock transfer orders): order acceptance, order entry, order confirmation and order follow up, including documentation and questions.

At all times you proactively reach out to customers to follow up on contract fulfillments, and you maintain the OTC master data. You also manage transport administration, booking transport for every order and sending transport instruction in compliance with law and regulations, HSE policies, and customs regulations.

Further you ensure timely, complete and correct sales invoicing and documentation (including credit-debit notes, rebates, commissions, return to works, etc.). You also monitor, register and inform on contractual sales volumes and additional order-related costs on customer level.

In addition you perform complaint administration/handling, coordinate samples deliveries, and perform overdue review under guidance from sales/credit control.

AkzoNobel is committed to continuous improvement and you support this via the implementation and/or optimization of work processes, techniques and systems. You also share knowledge (best practices) and contribute to standardization and harmonization.

Candidate profile

  • HBO level of working and thinking;
  • Relevant commercial and logistics education and training;
  • Accurate and experienced in SAP order processing;
  • Excellent communication by phone (able to explain problems and handle critics);
  • Able to participate actively in meetings;
  • A high level of English, Dutch and French.
