We are looking for a fully qualified, talented, social media specialist to join our dynamic and creative Digital Communications Team in Leidschenveen, just outside of The Hague. This full-time role provides the opportunity to work at the heart of a forward thinking, international organisation, composed of over 80+ nationalities.

Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, you will be responsible for creating original copy and digital content, managing posts and responding to followers. You will manage The British School in The Netherlands' (the BSN's) image in a cohesive way to achieve our communication goals. You will be pivotal in shaping the BSN’s social media footprint and you will also be responsible for managing the blog and blog posts for the BSN Voices blog platform.

As social media specialist, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our organisation’s views creatively. In this role, you will also be expected to provide training to various staff members on social use and policy for the BSN.

Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a social media strategy to align with The BSN’s communication/marketing goals
  • Set specific objectives and report on ROI
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Collaborate with our 4 schools to ensure brand consistency
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner
  • Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Write policy and guidelines to stay up-to-date with changing social media environments
  • Coordinate and prepare training for staff on social media use
  • Edit, write and post blogs on the BSN Voices blog platform

Requirements Social Media Specialist (Digital Communications Administrator)

We are looking for:

  • Proven work experience in social media management (minimum 3 years)
  • Hands on experience in content management
  • Excellent English copywriting skills
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels
  • Familiarity with website CMS systems
  • Familiarity with Wordpress
  • Experience in using social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical and multitasking skills
  • BSc degree in Communications/Marketing or relevant field
