I’m a Senior Data Engineer based in Amsterdam with 16 years of experience designing and modernizing enterprise data platforms across Azure and AWS. Over the years, my work has increasingly focused on helping organizations move away from ETL-heavy legacy ecosystems toward scalable, cloud-native data platforms that are easier to operate, govern, and trust.
What I enjoy most is building data platforms that balance engineering depth with practical business usability — not just pipelines that run, but platforms that teams can actually rely on for decision-making, analytics, and operational visibility.
My recent work has involved large-scale modernization programs across the energy, utilities, and consulting sectors, including:
designing Databricks-based lakehouse and medallion architectures
modernizing Oracle and IBM DataStage based architecture into AWS and Snowflake platforms
building governed data ecosystems supporting hundreds of datasets, APIs, and downstream consumers
enabling self-service analytics through semantic models, observability, and AI-assisted reporting patterns
I work hands-on across Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, AWS, Kafka, Airflow, Python, PySpark, SQL, and Power BI, and I’m particularly interested in the intersection of modern data engineering, platform reliability, and analytics enablement.
