In the second quarter of 2014 The Dutch labor market showed a tentative recovery .This reports the Central Bureau of Statistics ( CBS) on Thursday .
Unemployment has decreased compared to the first quarter. The number of new vacancies has slightly grown and while the number of existing jobs remained unchanged.
However, the long-term unemployment did not decreased, on the contrary, it seems like for long term unemployed people it became even harder to return to the labour market..

In the second quarter were 672,000 jobless people, 12,000 fewer than in the first quarter was the case .
In the last quarter of 2103 the unemployed decreased, however it had different reason for that and had nothing to do with economic recovery. Many people withdrew from the labour market . Now there are more people went to work .
The youth unemployment has gone down as well as among men aged 25 to 45 years, however 45+ers are still not successful in finding t jobs and unemployment not only became smaller, but on the contrary there are extremely many long-term unemployed among this group and the number continues to grow . More than half was at least a year without a jb . Long-term unemployment has risen to 40 percent of all unemployed. Last year, it was 36 percent.
Jobs
In the second quarter , there were 108,000 job vacancies , 17,000 more than a year earlier . There were 6.2 unemployed per job opening. Mid-2013 , there were seven times as many unemployed people per job openings.
The demand for flexible employment has grown. " In recent years, decreasing the number of permanent employees and the number of flexible workers is rising almost constantly ," according to the statistics office .
The number of self-employed rises steadily as well. Especially the number of freelancers is on the rise .

In the second quarter, the number of jobs decreased by seven thousand , while the number of jobs of self-employed rose by eight thousand.
The number of jobs in the second quarter remained the same as in the first . It is the first time in over two years that the number of jobs is not shrinking .
