Employers’ organization VNO-NCW agrees with the plan to return unemployment benefits to the unemployed during three years.

President Hans de Boer has confirmed that on the TV program WNL on Sunday. “We’re going to sign it, I just have to check one more time with my board”, said De Boer, who criticized the unions with his statement.

Suspended Consultation

Since Friday, the unions did not want to discuss with the employers’ organizations because they had not wanted to sign. But according to De Boer, conclusions have been drawn too quickly.

“The letter from the farmers was on my desk on Wednesday evening, and on Thursday I read in the paper that we were going to sign on Friday”, said the VNO-NCW chairman. “I'm from Friesland, and I can tell you: we’re not working like that here. We just have to think about it well”.

According to De Boer, his board meets on May 8 to discuss the extension of WW.
